System Recommendations

This section explains the recommended hardware. To view detailed instructions on how to setup ExpressMaintenance on a network or how to setup client workstations, view the topic on Workstation Setup.

ExpressMaintenance requires Windows 95B, Windows 98, Windows NT, Windows2000 or Windows XP Professional. Our recommended operating system is Windows 2000 or XP Professional. In addition, it requires the Microsoft Database Engine (MSDE) or Microsoft SQL 7.0 or higher as the back-end database server. Our experience has been that customers want programs that execute commands and retrieve data quickly. ExpressMaintenance will exceed such expectations when configured on high performance hardware. For this reason, we make the following recommendations at the time of publication:

Server:

Pentium II 266Mhz or higher (Pentium III 450Mhz preferred)

128MB Ram (256MB preferred)

Windows 95*, 98*, NT, 2000, XP or 2003 (XP or 2000 Preferred) see details

SVGA 800x600 64k color capable display

4.3GB Hard Disk Drive (SCSI interface preferred for large networks)

8X CD-ROM Drive (32X or higher Preferred)

10BT Network Card (network installations only)

10BT Network Hub (network installations only)

Tape, Zip or CD backup device

Internet access for support

Quality uninterruptible power supply recommended

Client / Standalone:

64MB Ram (128 Megs preferred)

Windows 95*, 98*, NT, 2000, XP or 2003 (XP or 2000 Preferred) see details

10BT Network Card (100BT Preferred)

Recommend Windows NT, 2000, XP or 2003. Will run on 95* or 98* (see notes below)

Using Windows 2003 on server requires the MSDE 2000 or SQL 2000 (more details)

Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) Version 2.6 or higher

Network:

TCP/IP Protocol Support

10BT Hub (100BT Preferred)

Will run under Citrix Software and Terminal Services

Quality uninterruptible power supply recommended

Internet connectivity recommended for online support

Express Technology software products are true 32 bit Client/Server applications developed specifically for high performance voice and data processing. They are developed using Delphi 6 and other high-end components.
